The Szélrózsa Folk-Dance Club was found in Földes, in 1976. Földes is a village situated in Eastern-Hungary, located on the margin of the Hajdúság, 35 kms from Debrecen.
The purpose of the Folk-Dance Club is to search, elaborate and introduce the surrounding local folk traditions, just as to evoke the dissembler games twitting to some folk-episodes.
Our club has acheved great successes in our appearances in Hungary and abroad too.
The instructor of our club has been Gyönyörű Zsigmond since 1999. Under his leadership the professional work of the group has developed significantly.
The Folk-Dance Club is performing dances of the Hajdúság, Bihar, Somogy, Szatmár, Jászság, Kalotaszeg, Szilágyság, and dissamble games as well. Besides, the audience can be delighted by other dances with different types of tools, for example the leds’ dance with chairs and brooms, and the maidens’ glassy-dance.
Szélrózsa Folk-Dance Club performed in Denmark, Spain, Transylvania, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Ukraine, Serbia.
Our Group is very successful, proven by the nationwide qualification won in 2004. This achievement motivates us to make qualitative work.
The group is operated by the support of the Karácsony Sándorprimary school and the Szélrózsa Hagyományőrző Egyesület, founded in 2004.
A földesi Szélrózsa Néptáncegyüttes a Nemzeti Színház Kaszás Attila termében adta elő "A földesi ködmön" című népszínművet.
